Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Development in Southwest China

Summer Study Tour

Student Elizabeth Leazer, Life Sciences Communications, was a participant in the 2004 Study Tour. She writes:

I learned a lot from our university lectures. I think an academic approach to the trip is important. I also really enjoyed meeting students from our host universities. It was a great way to learn more about culture, as we were able to discuss things with some of our buddies that we were unable to discuss with our lecturers.

Visiting Yunnan Province was also a favorite. The things I saw there were incredible and I will always value that leg of the trip. In the future, I think the whole group would benefit from experiencing Yunnan. It was vastly different from the rest of the trip and poses an important contrast to the large cities we visited.
